RUG BURN LLC retails premium and specialty floors for homes and commercial
rooms from 2758 Bacon Street. The 2024 shop stocks natural parquet, engineered
wood, SPC vinyl, designer laminate, carpet, and the prep materials under them.
We specify the floor after the room is measured, then install it with one
warranty on material and labor.
A floor fails at the substrate, not at the showroom sample. Before a plank
leaves Bacon Street we audit moisture, flatness, and the room’s climate.
Those readings decide the product family and the prep. The result is a short
spec — wear class, thickness, underlayment — so buyer and installer share one sheet.
01 / H2O
Moisture
Pin or pinless meter on the slab and, where needed, in the timber.
High readings mean a primer or a pause, not thicker vinyl on a wet base.
02 / FLAT
Flatness
A long straightedge and a gap gauge. Hollows get compound; ridges get
ground. Click-lock does not hide a wave in the slab.
03 / RH
Climate
Temperature and relative humidity at survey. Wood moves; SPC is more
stable. The reading says which family can live in that room.
Sheet 03 · The shop
A retail counter that writes like an architect
RUG BURN LLC opened in 2024 as a retail counter for premium and specialized
flooring, not a warehouse aisle of leftover boxes. Bacon Street is where
boards are compared under the same light and where the audit notes are filed.
Homes and commercial floors use the same method: match abrasion class and
microclimate, then install with certified craftsmen. Primers, compounds,
underlayments, and transitions leave on the same ticket as the covering.

Sheet 04 · Spec library
Five covering families, one prep desk
Each line is stocked as a finished surface and as a system — underlayment,
adhesive, and transitions on the same ticket as the board.
RB-01
Natural parquet
Solid wood blocks and boards in oak and related species, laid as herringbone,
chevron, or a straight field. The grain is the surface, not a print.
Parquet belongs in rooms with stable heating and a dry substrate. Species,
block size, and finish follow that moisture reading.
RB-02
Engineered wood
A real-wood wear layer on a plywood or HDF core. It holds a straighter line
than a solid board through seasonal humidity swings.
Widths and finishes cover living rooms, corridors, and quiet offices, each
paired with the underlayment the core requires.
RB-03
SPC vinyl
Stone-plastic composite planks with a closed wear layer. They take kitchens,
entries, and light commercial rooms where water and carts are routine.
Underlayment, reducers, and moisture primer leave on the same ticket so the
click joint is not sitting on a raw slab.
RB-04
Designer laminate
A printed décor under a wear overlay rated by AC class. Laminate is the
clean joint for rentals, upstairs bedrooms, and offices that want a wood
look without a wood moisture budget.
We specify AC3, AC4, or AC5 against the room’s traffic, not against a box photo.
RB-05
Carpet
Broadloom and carpet tile for bedrooms, hotels, and quieter offices. Fiber
and density follow the wear expectation of the room.
Gripper, adhesive, and underlay leave with the goods so the install is not
a second shopping trip.
Sheet 05 · Wear × climate
The covering is a coordinate, not a mood
Wear class on one axis, room climate on the other. We place the covering
where both agree. The grid is the method, not a catalog of every SKU.

AC ratings apply to laminate. Wood is judged by species, finish, and the
moisture reading. Carpet by fiber, density, and residential vs commercial use.
The grid does not replace the three instruments on Sheet 02.
Sheet 06 · Crew and warranty
Certified install, one guarantee
Installation is sold with the material. Certified craftsmen lay the floor to
the audit spec. Primers, compounds, and underlayments come from the same
counter, so the joint is not waiting on a third vendor.
The warranty covers covering and work as one ticket. A failed joint is not a
debate between a shop and a contractor — it comes back to Bacon Street.
01
Material
The covering as specified — species, AC class, or commercial grade.
02
Labor
Install against the audit sheet, including prep and transitions.
03
One desk
If something fails under specified use, you call us once.
Sheet 07 · Notes
Questions we answer before the first board
Can I buy material only?
Yes. You can collect boards from Bacon Street. Install is scheduled after
the audit so the crew works from the same spec as the sale.
What does the substrate audit include?
Moisture, flatness, and room climate are recorded on site. You receive a
short spec: product family, wear class, and prep. No covering is ordered
until those numbers exist.
Do you work outside Saint Louis?
The shop is at 2758 Bacon Street, Saint Louis, Missouri. Homes and
commercial rooms are both in the book. Call with the address and the room type.
How does the warranty work?
Material and labor sit on one guarantee. If a joint or board fails under
normal use as specified, you talk to us, not to two desks. The term is
written on the ticket, not invented here.
